Summery:
For my western project I wanted to make a western saloon. after gathering my reference i noticed that the texture were mostly wood, so I took note of it and had too keep the same consistency for all furniture and walls. In my scene I put in these features. The Bar area is the area where people will come and sit to have a drinking only and cope with whatever they are going through. With the objects I left there I implied that there was someone that as sitting to left of the barrel and lantern drinking and had their weapon. the next area is the seating area where people come to eat drink or talk. the next area is the entrance where they are two passages with swinging doors. the last feature was to create the atmosphere in the room, so what I did was include the door where there is an implied kitchen while placing paintings to give the place a western scenery. That is how I wanted the place to look.
For this being our final week on working on this it was going smoothly until the rendering. First off what I did know was UV the wall and texture the walls. What i did for this was make every wall there own piece. I also included the concept of paintings into the walls. What I did was use the same technique used for making the bottle. I included 3 paintings and a big window. There was another wall I made that it will have an entrance with swinging doors. now for the renders I wanted all of the main objects being shown on these renders. The tree renders the main views on the saloon including the walls. The post processing for meshing the AO render and the Beauty render was a very simple process. However there was some problems that affected the rendering and the post render process.
Problems Encountered:
The main problems that I had with the render was the long wait times for the render to come out. I started to noticed for the beauty renders it took a long time. I tried reducing the setting for the render in the Arnold render setting. However for the increase in the aspect ratio it did really slow things down in more ways than one. the reason I lost my patience was that the most of the render was all complete even it stated that the render was at 100% but I notice that stop IPR was still in the red square and that indicates that it is still rendering. I gave up after 45 minutes of waiting and I decided to just move on. there was also minimal problems that I have encounter in the project. one of them was for some UV's I did before some how got weird and the UV shells I made for the wooden beams over the bar area had a lot of questionable bevels and cuts made into them. The good thing that most of the objects were unaffected, so I duplicated new ones from other objects and erased the past objects and had them be replacements. but for that that was mostly all the problems.
